This movie shows a turtle visually tracking a fish. After some time, the turtle moves towards the fish and attempts to catch it in its mouth. This is a complex task for a turtle since the fish will try to evade capture. To be successful the turtle must be able to predict the future location of the fish based upon its current motion (i.e. speed and direction). One of the current projects in the lab is to better characterize prey capture by turtles using standard kinematic analysis techniques.
