Texas Space Consortium

NASA Funded System Engineering Workshops

PURPOSE

* To disseminate an undergraduate systems engineering curriculum to interested universities operating within NASA's Space Grant Consortia.
* To discuss effectiveness of the pilot systems engineering activities at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Matthew Wayner

Reception to Honor Dr Matthew Wayner

A reception to honor the career of Dr Matthew J Wayner will be held on April 24th in the Bioscience building Loeffler room (BSB-3.03.02) from 1PM-3PM. Please join us along with friends, family, and colleagues to celebrate the career and retirement of one of the Biology department's distingushed tenure reseach faculty. Dr Wayner, a professor in Neurobiology, has conducted work with UTSA since 1983.

Mario R. Capecchi, 2007 Nobel Prize winner, guest speaking at UTSA

The Biology Department welcomes distinguished guest speaker Mario R. Capecchi, winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his “groundbreaking discoveries concerning embryonic stem cells and DNA recombination in mammals.” Dr Capecchi's lecture will be "Gene Targeting in the 21st Century: Mouse Models of Human Disease from Cancer to Psychiatric Disorders" and will occur April 14th at 6:30-7:30 PM in the Main Building Auditorium (MB-0.104)
