Welcome to Honors Biosciences 1
This is the first course in a two part introduction to the science of biology. It covers the first twenty-three chapters in your textbook, Biology (8th ed) by Campbell and Reece. The course focuses on the chemical basis of life (biochemistry), the structure and function of cells (cell biology), the conversion of carbon dioxide into sugar (photosynthesis), the conversion of sugar into ATP (metabolic respiration), cell division, Mendelian genetics, molecular genetics, protein synthesis, gene regulation, biotechnology and evolution . The menu at left provides detailed information about your instructors, lecture and exam schedule, grading and other important points. Check the Announcements regularly for changes and updates
